Embark on a mystical 3-day spiritual yatra through South India, where five ancient temples—each dedicated to one of the Pancha Bhootas (Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space)—stand as powerful energy centers. This is not just a journey through temples, but through your own elemental nature.
Each of these temples represents one of the five fundamental elements of existence—Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space—known in yogic science as the Pancha Bhootas. Visiting them is not just about devotion, but an opportunity for purification and balance within.
Known as the Kashi of the South, this temple represents the element of air. The sanctum is said to house a self-manifested lingam with a constant, subtle movement symbolizing the pranic force or breath. Ideal for balancing the vital life energy.
Location: Sri Kalahasti, Andhra Pradesh
Here, the Shiva Lingam is always partially submerged in water from an underground spring. Meditating here is said to help dissolve emotional clutter and purify one’s inner being through the water element.
Location: Thiruvanaikaval, Tamil Nadu
One of the largest temples in India, it honors the earth element. The lingam is made from sand, said to be shaped by Parvati herself. A powerful place to ground yourself and stabilize the physical and energetic body.
Location: Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu
The embodiment of the fire element, this is the sacred mountain temple where Shiva appeared as an infinite flame. Deeply revered for spiritual awakening and intense transformation. Ramana Maharshi meditated here for years.
Location: Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu
This temple celebrates the element of space or ether, symbolized by the ‘Chidambara Rahasyam’ – the divine secret of the formless. The space where Shiva dances is said to represent the cosmic void, the very source of creation.
Location: Chidambaram, Tamil Nadu
Kalahasti (Air), Jambukeshwar (Water), Ekambareshwar (Earth), Arunachaleshwar (Fire), Chidambaram (Space)
Guided sessions from the Sadhguru App, practiced in the energy spaces of each temple
An intimate group of meditators and spiritually inclined individuals
Deepen your inner experience with moments of stillness and sadhana
Nourishing meals, serene journeys, and soulful conversations throughout the yatra
